Use an AI pronunciation score as a prompt to listen and try again, not as a final judgement of your speaking ability. Check whether you can communicate a useful message clearly and respond when the situation changes.
You repeat a sentence until the app gives a better result. Later, a teacher asks a similar question with different words and you hesitate. Reproducing a phrase and using language in a conversation are related but different tasks.
Choose a situation before choosing a score
For a learner in the UAE, the situation might be asking for clarification in class, introducing a school project or explaining directions. Pick something the learner genuinely expects to say.
Write a short message, identify the words that carry its meaning and practise saying it at a comfortable pace. Clarity does not require erasing a person’s accent. The aim is to be understood, not to sound identical to another speaker.
How Vibe Lingo can help
Vibe Lingo provides guided language lessons and speaking practice through a listen, speak and feedback routine. Hear a phrase, say it aloud, review the pronunciation feedback and try again where useful.
Check the current language and lesson availability in your account. Lingo practice is separate from Vibe’s paid human Ask an Expert sessions. Do not assume every lesson includes a live teacher or that an automated score predicts an official speaking-exam result.
Use a three-part speaking check
- Repeat: Practise the original phrase and identify one part to improve.
- Adapt: Change a meaningful detail, such as the time, place or request.
- Respond: Ask a parent, teacher or practice partner to give a simple follow-up question.
For “Could you explain the last step?”, a follow-up might be “Which part was unclear?” The learner now needs to communicate a thought rather than reproduce a memorised line.
Do not chase a score endlessly
Automated feedback can be affected by recording conditions and may not reflect every aspect of communication. If feedback seems inconsistent, check the microphone and background noise, listen again and seek human feedback where possible.
In a homeschool session, agree on one improvement and a stopping point. Notice whether the learner can make the request more clearly or respond with less prompting. Keep practice supportive rather than correcting every word mid-sentence.
Frequently asked questions
Does a high score mean I am fluent?
No. Fluency includes understanding, choosing words, responding and maintaining communication across situations.
Should I repeat every phrase until it is perfect?
No. Use feedback selectively and include meaningful speaking beyond repetition.
