Gyanis FAQ: the AI study app for GCSE & A-Level

  • What is Gyanis?

Gyanis is the study OS for students preparing for GCSE, A-Levels, IB & Scottish Highers. Four pillars sit on one screen: Flow for daily study, Aura for coach bookings, Vibe for Ask-an-Expert tutoring, and OneByZero for the student marketplace. One Gyanis Credits (GC) balance runs all four.

  • Can I use Gyanis for GCSE, A-Levels, IB, Scottish Highers preparation?

Yes. Every drill, mindmap, and Gameplan entry in Flow is tagged to GCSE, A-Levels, IB, Scottish Highers by class, subject, unit, and topic. Complete GCSE and A-Level preparation covering AQA, Edexcel, and OCR exam boards with past paper practice, mark scheme analysis, and examiner-style feedback.

  • Is Gyanis a replacement for school or coaching?

No. Gyanis is a study workspace. Teachers still teach. Coaches still coach. Flow handles the daily practice, the mindmap of a chapter, and the next-question decision; a human handles the conversation that matters.

  • What is Gyanis Flow?

Flow is the study workspace. Ten tools on one screen: AI Chat for doubts, Drills for GCSE, A-Levels, IB & Scottish Highers MCQs tagged to your syllabus, Arena mock exams, Express grading, Lab, Virtual Classroom, MindMaps for a chapter tree in under ten seconds, Gameplan for the Mission, Battle, Conquered, Replay label on every topic, MoodBoard for saved formulas, and Pulse for time on task and accuracy by topic. Flow is free to start with a 7-day trial; paid plans provide access subject to plan usage limits.

  • What is Gyanis Aura?

Aura is a directory of HCPC registered coaches. Sessions run on video; session length and GC price are set by each coach and quoted before you confirm. The student keeps a written takeaway from every session. Parental visibility is on for minor accounts.

  • What is Gyanis Vibe?

Vibe is the Ask-an-Expert tutoring marketplace, plus Lingo for language learning. The student sets the price when they raise their hand, and it is per session, never per minute. Funds sit in Gyanis Credits until the session completes, then release to the expert. If no expert accepts, the student gets the full amount back. Available in English.

  • How does the AI decide what to show me next?

A rule engine, not a black box. Two correct answers in a row move difficulty up. One slip at the new level moves it back down. Gameplan relabels a topic Mission, Battle, Conquered, or Replay from the last three days of accuracy and the last five days of speed. Coach-copilot ranks the next best action using a lightweight rule engine over anonymised drill events.

  • Which exams does Gyanis cover?

GCSEs (AQA, Edexcel, OCR), A-Levels (all exam boards), IB Diploma, Scottish Highers and Advanced Highers, and BTEC qualifications. Every question is tagged by syllabus, class, subject, unit, and topic, so filters work at the topic level, not the chapter level.

  • What commission do Aura and Vibe charge?

Gyanis deducts a 5% commission from the settled session amount before crediting the teacher or coach. It is included in the student’s session price, not added on top. GC rounding and minimum-fee rules apply; any withdrawal fee is separate and shown before withdrawal.

  • Is Gyanis free to use?

Gyanis is free to start, and you pay only for the pillars you use. Flow opens with a 7-day trial; after that, paid plans provide access subject to plan usage limits. Vibe is priced per session and set by the student, with funds held in Gyanis Credits and refunded in full if no expert accepts. Aura is priced per session, quoted before you confirm. No card required to start.

  • How much does a Gyanis Credit cost?

You load GC once and spend across Flow, Aura, Vibe, and OneByZero. Pricing is shown in the wallet before purchase, in local currency. School and institution packs have volume pricing. Contact support for a quote.

  • How do refunds work?

Aura refunds depend on acceptance, cancellation timing and attendance. Cancelling a pending request or an accepted session outside the late-cancellation window returns the full amount; the cancellation preview shows any late penalty before confirmation. Vibe returns the full amount if no expert accepts, or if you cancel within the allowed grace window before the session starts. OneByZero orders carry a 48-hour claim window, and seller earnings settle to the GC wallet only after delivery is confirmed.

  • Is Gyanis available on mobile?

Yes, as a web app that runs on any modern mobile browser. Dedicated iOS and Android apps are in build, with offline support for mindmaps and drill sets.

  • Can I use Gyanis offline?

On paid plans, you can download mindmaps and drill sets for offline use. Live features (Chat, Aura, Vibe expert sessions) need the internet.

  • How secure is my data on Gyanis?

UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018 compliant. Study data builds your personal mastery map and nothing else. Never sold. Never used to train a public model. Encryption is TLS in transit and AES at rest. Aura session notes are confidential and scoped to the student and coach.

  • Can parents track study progress?

Yes. Pulse gives the parent the same page the student sees: time on task by day, accuracy by topic, and predicted score against the target. No quizzing at the dinner table needed.

  • Is Gyanis safe for children?

Minor accounts require guardian consent before Aura, Vibe, or OneByZero is switched on. Content filters are on by default and can be tightened at the class level. Aura coaches are HCPC registered. Full detail is in the AI Safety Guidelines.

  • How does Aura help with exam stress?

Aura connects a student to a named HCPC registered coach for a video session; session length and GC price are set by each coach. The student chooses the coach by specialisation, language, and availability. The session ends with a written takeaway and, if the student wants, a booking for the next one. Specialised support covers GCSE, A-Levels, IB & Scottish Highers stress, burnout, and academic anxiety.

  • Are the coaches on Aura qualified?

All Aura Coaches on Gyanis Aura are HCPC registered (Health and Care Professions Council) with experience in student mental health. Every coach has at least three years of experience with students, and every profile lists specialisation and language so you can pick by fit, not by queue.

  • How do teachers use Gyanis?

A teacher builds a question paper in minutes, tagged by class, unit, and topic, and exports it as a print-ready PDF. Pulse shows accuracy and weak topics by class and by student, so the teacher knows who needs the extra five minutes. Digital drills update Pulse automatically; a printed paper feeds it only when the results are recorded in Gyanis.

  • Is there a teacher dashboard?

Yes. The teacher view shows per-student accuracy, time on task, and Gameplan labels for the cohort. Every data point a teacher sees is the same data point the parent and the student see. No parallel stories.

  • How do schools roll out Gyanis?

Class-level rollouts, with role-based access for teachers, students, and parents. Onboarding runs as a 120-minute workshop in the classroom, followed by a three-month pilot with cohort dashboards and export-ready reports. Guardian consent is captured at enrolment.

  • Are school workshops free?

Yes. The 120-minute AI literacy workshop for Grades 6 to 12 is free. Teachers walk out with a lesson plan and the deck. Book at gyanis.ai/school-workshop.

  • Is Gyanis free like Seneca or BBC Bitesize?

No. Flow opens with a 7-day trial and there is no free tier after it; paid plans provide access subject to plan usage limits. Two tools are free with no signup: the GCSE grade boundary calculator and the UCAS Tariff points calculator at gyanis.ai/tools.

  • When should I start GCSE revision, and can Gyanis build the timetable?

Start before the mock window, and start with a diagnostic rather than a colour-coded grid. Flow's first week of drills tells Gameplan which topics are Mission, Battle, Conquered, or Replay, and tonight's session is built from that, not from a calendar template. The plan changes as your accuracy changes.

  • How does Vibe compare with a private GCSE tutor charging by the hour?

A tutor sets an hourly rate. On Vibe the student sets one price for the whole session, a verified expert accepts it or every credit comes back, and the session runs as a private 1:1 video call with the price shown before you confirm. Book one session for one topic; there is no term-long commitment.

  • Is Aura therapy? Are the coaches HCPC registered?

Aura is not therapy. It is coaching for exam stress, burnout, and academic anxiety, delivered on video by HCPC registered coaches who list their specialisation and language on their profile. If you are in crisis, call 999; Aura is not an emergency service.

  • Can I use the UCAS points calculator without an account?

Yes. Enter your A-Level, AS-Level, BTEC, Scottish Higher, Advanced Higher, or EPQ grades and the Tariff total appears with the offer band it maps to. No signup, no email, and it works on a phone.

  • Does the GCSE grade calculator cover my exam board?

Yes. Pick AQA, Edexcel, or OCR, type your raw marks, and it shows the 9 to 1 grade and the marks to the next grade using the 2024 boundaries each board published. It is a historical reference, not a prediction for this summer.

  • Can a UK school book the free AI workshop for Years 7 to 13?

Yes. The 120-minute AI literacy workshop is free for schools teaching Years 7 to 13. Students and teachers learn where AI helps, where it gets things wrong, and how to check it. Teachers leave with the deck and a lesson plan. Book at gyanis.ai/school-workshop.
